KATHMANDU, Dec 10: The Nepali Congress (NC) has finalized the names of 32 MPs under proportional list.
NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba has finalized the names of the MPs from the closed list on the basis of inclusiveness after discussion with the NC office bearers during the central work performance committee meeting at the party central office in Sanepa on Saturday morning.
Out of 32 seats that the party secured, 29 were allocated for women and only three for men. Due to the provision requiring 33 percent representation of women in parliament, only three men will become MPs from NC under proportional representation system. They include Bimalendra Nidhi, Jeevan Pariyar and Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat. Gopal Man Shrestha, who was the number one candidate from indigenous category, could not be elected as an MP.
