NC, CPN-Maoist cadres clash in Mugu, 10 injured

MUGU, Oct 14: Ten people were injured in a clash that took place between Nepali Congress and CPN-Maoist cadres at Bhiyee village of Mugu district on Sunday.



One of the injured is reported to be in a critical condition.



Maoist cadres reportedly attacked the door-to-door election campaigning by the Nepali Congress party.[break]



The injured include NC cadres Jaleswar Dhami, Lila Dhami, Keshav Dhami, Punna Lal Kulal of Bhiyee village and Akkal Shahi of Jadepani village, according to Congress candidate from the district Ain Bahadur Shahi.



Likewise, five Maoist cadres including Dantya Damai, Tara Damai and others were also injured.



Nepali congress has claimed that the Maoist cadres pelted stones at its door-to-door programme while the Maoists have said that they retaliated after they came under attack from the NC cadres.



The incident site is two days walk from the district headquarters Gamgadhi.



Details of the incident is yet to be received while a team of Nepal and Armed police have already left from the district headquarters, according to Chief District Officer Balbhadra Giri.
