NC appoints 14 zones, 42 departments chiefs

KATHMANDU, July 28: Nepali Congress has appointed chiefs of the 42 party central departments and 14 zones on Saturday.  The party has also extended numbers of the departments by adding 12 new departments.



According to a press statement, NC president Sushil Koirala has also appointed Ram Krishna Tamrakar as coordinator of valley coordination committee and Dilendra Prasad Badhu as party spokesperson.[break]



Likewise, Koirala has appointed the Baburam Rana, a general convention representative of the party from Rupandehi district as a  central working committee member.



Meanwhile, the president also formed two central directive committees (CDC) with mandates of assisting the adhoc committees and carrying out general conventions of the various sister organizations of the party.



A four-member CDC led by party general secretary Prakash Man SIngh would look after the Nepal student union, Nepal indigenous and ethnic association and Nepal peasant association and Nepal national Magar association.



Similarly, the CDC led by general secretary Krishna Prasad Situala would look after the Nepal taraun dal, Nepal women association, Nepal democratic fighters’ association.



As per the appointments, Minendra Rijal has been appointed as coordinator of publicity department, Purna Bahadur Khadka for parliamentary department, Umakant Chowdhary in Tarai-Madhes department, Sujata Koirala for department of international relation, Ananda Prasad Dhungana for organisational department, Gagan Thapa for department for federal issues and Shanker Bhandari in Tarun department, Shashank Koirala for Health department, .
