KATHMANDU, Feb 6: The CPN (Unified Socialist) has designated its leaders as chiefs and deputy chiefs for its central departments.
In its announcement on January 27, the party assigned leadership roles for 33 central departments. It appointed senior leader Jhala Nath Khanal as the Chief of the Party School Department, while senior leaders Dr. Beduram Bhusal and Dr Bijay Poudel have been assigned the roles of deputy chiefs.
Dr Beduram Bhusal has been appointed as the Chief of the Organization Department, with Ramchandra Yadav as the Deputy Chief. Pramesh Hamal has been designated as the Chief of the Foreign Affairs Department. Senior leader Ghanendra Basnet has been appointed as the Chief of the State Affairs Department, with Pramod Sharma as the Deputy Chief.
Party Vice Chairman Prakash Jwala has been assigned as the Chief of the Publicity Department, while Damodar Aryal and Chamina Bhattarai will serve as Deputy Chiefs. Party Vice Chairman Jagannath Khatiwada has been appointed as the Chief of the Federal and Provincial Affairs Department.
Party General Secretary Ghanshyam Bhusal has taken charge as the Chief of the Monitoring and Evaluation Department, with Ashesh Ghimire as the Deputy Chief. Garima Shah has been appointed as the Chief of the Parliamentary Affairs Department. Party Secretary Sabitra Bhusal has been designated as the Chief of the Education Department, with Uday Bahadur Bohara as the Deputy Chief.

Party Secretary Som Pandey has been given responsibility as the Chief of the Economic Affairs Department. Keshab Lal Shrestha has been assigned as the Chief of the Cooperative Department, with Nirmal Subedi and Nabaraj Subedi as Deputy Chiefs.
Similarly, Dr Bijay Poudel has been appointed as the Chief of the Economic Planning Department, with Dr Chandramani Adhikari as the Deputy Chief. Jeewan Ram Shrestha has been designated as the Chief of the Tourism Department, with Hansha Bahadur Shahi as the Deputy Chief.
Hari Parajuli has been assigned as the Chief of the Agriculture and Land Reform Department, with Chunu KC as the Deputy Chief. Ramchandra Jha has been appointed as the Chief of the Physical Infrastructure and Transport Department, with Gambhir Lal Shrestha as the Deputy Chief.
Kalyani Khadka has been given responsibility as the Chief of the Local Level Department, with Meena Lama and Dr. Sita Dhungana as Deputy Chiefs. Dr. Banshidhar Mishra has been appointed as the Chief of the Health Department, with Radha Silwal as the Deputy Chief.
Sadhya Bahadur Bhandari has been designated as the Chief of the National Interest and Security Department. Dr Krishna Pant has been assigned as the Chief of the Water Resources Department. Dilu Pant has been appointed as the Chief of the Election Department, with Ambika Thapa and Bhawani Khadka as Deputy Chiefs.
Dr Deuman Sambahamphe has been given responsibility as the Chief of the Law Department, with Kul Prasad Phuyal as the Deputy Chief.
Niradevi Jairu has been appointed as the Chief of the Party's Social Welfare Department, with Manju Yadav as the Deputy Chief. Rajendra Man Shrestha has been designated as the Chief of the Disaster Management Department, with Bhaskar Kafle as the Deputy Chief.
Prof Dr Indu Acharya has been assigned as the Chief of the Consumer Rights Department, with Rukmati Jagari as the Deputy Chief. Sudesh Parajuli has been appointed as the Chief of the Labor and Employment Department. Shankar Pokharel has been given responsibility as the Chief of the Science and Technology Department. Chiranjivi Acharya has been designated as the Chief of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department.
Dev Singh Mahata has been appointed as the Chief of the Sports Department, with Rita Awal as the Deputy Chief. Krishna Prasad Khanal has been assigned as the Chief of the Urban Development Department. Bijay Gurung has been designated as the Chief of the Forest and Environment Department, with Ambika Thapa as the Deputy Chief.
Parmananda Bhatt has been appointed as the Chief of the Industry and Commerce Department, with Goma Timilsina as the Deputy Chief Hom Budhathoki has been assigned as the Chief of the Entrepreneurship Development Department. Ramesh Ranjan Jha has been given responsibility as the Chief of the Literature and Culture Department.
