Narayanghat-Muglin road reopens

According to Police Inspector Anil Thapa, Chief of the District Traffic Police Office in Chitwan, two-way traffic movement resumed at 1:15pm following the clearance of the landslide debris. Earlier, at 11:15am, the road had been opened for one-way traffic to allow ambulances and motorcycles to pass.

CHITWAN, July 28: The Narayanghat-Muglin road section, which was blocked following a dry landslide near Muglin, has reopened for traffic. The landslide occurred at Khahare Khola in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-5 at 8:30 am today.



According to Police Inspector Anil Thapa, Chief of the District Traffic Police Office in Chitwan, two-way traffic movement resumed at 1:15pm following the clearance of the landslide debris. Earlier, at 11:15am, the road had been opened for one-way traffic to allow ambulances and motorcycles to pass.

Loaders, excavators, and backhoes from Narayanghat, as well as a loader from Muglin, were deployed to clear the landslide debris. 


A dry landslide, accompanied by rocks, had fallen from a height of 40 meters at the site. Police reported that vehicles stranded on the road have resumed their journeys toward their destinations following the clearance of the landslide.
