NA continues rescue, relief operations

KATHMANDU, May 10: The Nepali Army has continued the rescue and relief operations in the earthquake-affected districts with maximum mobilisation of its resources Saturday, too, the 16th day of the disaster.

Meanwhile, Legal Advisor to the Office of President Dr Surya Dhungel held a meeting with Chief of Army Staff Gaurav Shumsher JBR at the NA headquarters Bhadrakali in the context of carrying out rescue and relief operations in a coordinated channel, the NA Directorate of Public Relations said.


As many as 999 people suffering earthquake injuries were treated at Chhauni-based Birendra Military Hospital and of them 239 underwent successful surgery.

The NA has operated mobile health camps at Laprak of Gorkha, Chautara of Sindhupalchowk and Dhunche of Rasuwa, the areas worst- hit by the April 25 earthquake. RSS
