KATHMANDU, August 28: Minister for Home Affairs, Balkrishna Khand has directed the security bodies under the home ministry to get proactively engaged in the rescue and relief operations across the country.
Talking to the chiefs of the security agencies and chief district officers today, Minister Khand directed them to place high alertness in the rescue and relief operations at a time when monsoon-triggered disasters are causing a huge loss of both life and property in the country.

The minister further said protecting the life and property of people was the prime task of the government so all mechanisms should work together to that end.
Minister Khand held a meeting with chiefs of Armed Police Force of Province-1, Province-2, Bagmati Province, Lumbini Province, Karnali Province and Sudur Paschim Province and chief district officers of Nawalparasi (East), Nawalparasi (West), Rupandehi and Banke districts to this effect.
