"The ministry´s secretary and director generals of concerned directorates are mandated to make the transfers of government officials," he said. "I had told the state minister that we [ministers] should not interfere in the matter."

He claimed that Sah accused him of corruption as she was unhappy after he thwarted her attempt of taking bribes for transferring government officials.

"I interfered after I found that the state minister had already taken bribes for transfers," Minister Gautam said. According to him, some civil servants were transferred as per the state minister Sah´s recommendation.

"At least 17 of the total 25 civil servants were transferred based on her recommendations," the minister said, adding, "Other eight officials were not transferred as per her suggestions."
