KATHMANDU, Dec 31: With the minimum temperature plummeting to 0.8 degree Celsius on Thursday morning, the Kathmandu Valley denizens felt the coldest day of the winter season as of now.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the minimum temperature in the Kathmandu Valley was 0.8 degrees Celsius at 8:45AM Thursday. The Valley's minimum temperature was 1.2 degrees Celsius at 5:45AM.

The forecasting division said that Jumla recorded -8.5 degrees Celsius, the lowest temperature across the country. Likewise, Dipayal and Birendranagar recorded 0.4 degrees Celsius and 1.9 degrees Celsius respectively.
The mercury will drop further across the country in the coming days, the division said.
Although there is sunshine since early morning today, bone-chilling cold has hit the lives of the people. The Terai region is being covered with thick fog today.
