Meeting of High Level Political Mechanism underway in Baluwata...
The meeting of the mechanism called for Thursday was postponed to Friday morning after a meeting between the coordinator of the mechanism and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Prime Minister Dahal.
After the meeting with Oli, in a brief conversation with the journalists, the Prime Minister said that the mechanism meeting will be held on Friday morning.
The presidential election date has been set for March 9. The ruling UML has staked a claim that the party should get the president according to the agreement reached on December 25 to form a new government under the leadership of Maoist Center.
But on January 10, Prime Minister Dahal was given a vote of confidence by the Nepali Congress (NC) as well. With this situation, the Maoists have been arguing that national consensus should be sought in the President.
