KATHMANDU, March 23: Palistha Kakshapati and Rahul Shrestha, who won medals in the 16th Muaythai World Championship, have been felicitated with cash prize on Saturday.
The National Muaythai Association Nepal felicitated the players for their medal winning campaign in the championship which ran from March 12 to 20 in Bangkok, Thailand. Kakshapati had won the gold medal in the championship, while Shrestha won the bronze medal.

Kakshapati was rewarded with Rs 15,000, while Shrestha received Rs 10,000 for their wins. In women’s cadet 30 kg weight category, Kakshapati defeated an Indian player to claim the gold medal.
Likewise, Rahul defeated a Brazilian player to reach the semifinals, but lost in the last four to an Uzbekistan player and was limited to a bronze medal in a semi professional fight of men’s 57 kg weight category.
