Mechi Highway resumes after two weeks

FIKKAL, Oct 19: The Mechi Highway, which was blocked due to a landslide caused by rainfall on October 4, has been reopened today. 



According to Chief District Officer Sunita Nepal, the Ilam–Rajduwali road section in Ilam Municipality 9 was opened for traffic from 9:00 PM today after the maintenance.

Road Division Office Chief Pawan Bhattarai mentioned that the highway was brought into operation after two weeks of continuous efforts by the Road Division Office, locals and security personnel. He further shared that the Road Division Office mobilized six excavators, one JCB, six tippers, and two loaders to clear the landslide.
