Maoist Center terms 1st round election, budget as government's achievements

KATHMANDU, May 31: CPN (Maoist Center) parliamentary party leader and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has called on party lawmakers to get united and gear up for the success of the upcoming second-round of local election. 


In the parliamentary party meeting took place at the Singha Durbar today, Prime Minister Dahal, also the party chair, briefed the meeting about government achievements and progresses in overall, hinting the possibility of an alliance in the second-phase election as well.

The Prime Minister apprised the meeting of first-round of election, preparations for the second-phase election, power handover, Chitwan vote counting dispute and Bibhusan (state decoration, honours and medal) announced on the occasion of the Republic Day, according to party lawmaker Asha Koirala. 


On the occasion, Prime Minister Dahal claimed that the successful completion of the first-round of local-level election and presentation of the budget for the upcoming fiscal year should be taken as great achievements of the government under his leadership. 


"The CPN (MC)-headed government had executed works which are capable of having long-term importance and being recorded in history. This government succeeded in ending power crisis and an era of light began during the tenure of the incumbent government. Likewise, the 1400-kilometer Hulaki (postal) Highway project is being implemented," he added. 


The country's economic growth rate has reached 7.55 per cent, inflation is under control and the rights centered in the Singha Durbar have reached to rural municipalities for the first time in the history," the Prime Minister stated. RSS
