KATHMANDU, June 5: On the auspicious occasion of World Environment Day 2018, Nepal Forum of Environmental journalists (NEFEJ) has awarded two journalists with Environment Journalism Award-2017.
The association planned to award Chandan Kumar Mandal and Chetu Sherpa from The Kathmandu Post and Annapurna Post respectively. The association has been providing with the cash prize of 25 thousands and a certificate to the winners since past thirty years.
Taking investigative journalism to new heights
Each year the NEFEJ evaluates a journalist for doing a good story related with environment and sustainable development however this time due to equal numbering as in the statistics, language and opinion, the award is being recommended for two journalists.
NEFEJ had requested all the journalists to send the articles and stories of 2017. Senior Journalist Rajendra Dahal as a Coordinator, Sharada Rijal as a President of Jounalists Work Committee, and Suryaman Shakya as an expert member and Environmentalist of the committee had done the necessary evaluation of the articles.
Mandal and Sherpa are 31st winners for the NEFEJ Environment Journalism Award.
