Man nabbed for posing as Chhota Rajan

KATHMANDU, May 19: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police on Friday arrested Thakur Prakash Biswakarma, 32, for threatening people for money through international phone numbers by posing as Chhota Rajan, a notorious underworld gangster.



Thakur, originally from Chapakot-3 of Kaski district, was arrested from his rented room at Basundhara, Kathmandu following a tip off. He had been threatening Anil Biswakarma Gajmer, 38, of Baluwatar-4 for the last few months demanding money, according to CIB. [break]



According to CIB, Thakur had been threatening to kill or kidnap Gajmer if he did not pay the sum demanded. Police said investigation into the complaints is on. It has been revealed that Thakur made several calls to Gajmer with the help of his friend Bijay, who lives in Malaysia, and other two friends Rabi and Munna from Australia.



Thakur had sent the contact details, email id and photographs of Gajmer to his friends abroad, said the police. CIB police has sent Thakur to Metropolitan Police Range Office, Hanumandhoka for further investigation.
