“Dulal received an electric shock of 11,000 Volt while he was volunteering to build an embankment along Melamchi River to contain possible inundation,” said Secretary Bhandari. “The electric wire was left stranded due to the devastating flash flood of June 16.”

Final rites of the deceased person are currently being conducted.

Following the death of the man, locals staged a protest against Nepal Electricity Authority demanding compensation to the family members of the deceased person. They also chanted strong slogans against the negligence shown by the state-owned power utility to manage the stranded electricity wires.
