KATHMANDU, May 4: The Government of Nepal is going to take concessional loan worth Rs 13.33 billion from the World Bank.


A cabinet meeting held on Wednesday decided to accept a concessional loan of 100 million dollars from the World Bank.


The recent cabinet decision was made public at a news conference organized at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology on May 3.

Similarly, the government has given approval for the participation of Attorney General Dr Dinmani Pokharel and Deputy Attorney General Sanjeev Raj Regmi in the 'Regional Programme for South Asia' to be organized in New Delhi on May 7. 


On the occasion, Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma, informed that the Cabinet endorsed India visit of Chief Election Commissioner, Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya, from May 4 to 9 to observe the general election taking place in India. 


The government also gave permission to revise the design of Nepali currency note with denomination of Rs 100 by replacing the old map of Nepal in the background with a new administrative map.  


According to Minister Sharma, the government decided to approve the draft of the MoU to be signed between the Supreme Court of Nepal and that of India for judicial cooperation. Chief registrar or registrars of the highest court of the both countries will sign the MoU.


Even the MoU on establishment of a consultative mechanism between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal and of Spain has been endorsed, and approval given to the Minister of Foreign Affairs to sign the MoU.


Other decisions made in the meeting include appointment of former judge of High Court Shrawan Kumar Gautam as the Chairperson of the Problematic Cooperatives Management Committee. The National Information and Technology Development Committee (Formation) Order, 2058 BS has been backtracked.  


The government also transferred some secretaries.
