Two fugitives brought to Nepal after Dubai arrest

KATHMANDU, May 17: Two fugitives, who were issued red notices by INTERPOL for crimes related to murder and electronic transactions, have been arrested in Dubai.

The arrested individuals are Bal Bahadur Limbu, 41, from Letang Municipality-3, Morang, and Santosh Neupane, 23, from Madhyabindu Municipality-13, Nawalparasi East.

The arrests were made in the UAE in coordination with the National Central Bureau (NCB) Abu Dhabi, UAE. Both fugitives were brought back to Nepal on Thursday to be prosecuted for their alleged crimes.

Limbu was wanted by the District Court, Morang, in a murder case. At the request of NCB, Kathmandu, INTERPOL issued a red notice against him on February 7, 2024.

Similarly, Santosh Neupane was wanted by the Kathmandu District Court for offenses related to electronic transactions. A red notice was issued against him on July 10, 2023.

Upon their return to Nepal, Limbu was handed over to the Area Police Office in Letang, Morang, while Neupane was handed over to the Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police for further investigation and action, according to the NCB, Kathmandu.
