RAUTAHAT, March 5:  Locals of Garuda of the district are in fright as CPN-UML and Unified Democratic Madheshi Front are preparing to hold the mass program in the same day.

Main opposition CPN-UML is scheduled to hold the mass meeting in the district on March 9 as a part of the Mechi-Mahakali campaign that began from Saturday.  The parties affiliated with the Front have called for strike and protest program in the district on same day to disturb the program.

As both groups have organized the program in the district on the same day, the locals are in fear of possible violence between two factions.

Both groups have chosen  the field of Shree Ram Sugar Mills for their program. They have denied calling off the program citing that the program is as per the schedule.

Administrative officials of the district have urged both groups to organize the program apart from each other. They are holding the meetings to make strategies to avoid the possible scuffle among the cadres of both parties.

All necessary security measures would be taken to maintain the peace in the district, says SP Yagyabinod Pokharel, head of the district police.

38 people lost their life in a deadly violence between cadres affiliated to the Front and the Maoist when both parties tried to organize their programs in same place in the district.
