Leaders of Tomorrow Begin Their Journey With USYC Nepal

As many as 52 new members of the US Embassy Youth Council Nepal have started their journey to become the leaders of tomorrow as of Tuesday. 


In the first day of the orientation organized jointly by US Embassy and We Inspire Nepal at Grand Norling Hotel's Resort in Mulpani on Tuesday, the new USYC Nepal members interacted with different personalities, who shared their personal and professional journey. Under the theme ‘Crossing The Border’, the personalities shared their stories in two different sessions. The youth also interacted with the personalities and put forward their queries in the Q&A sessions that followed each interaction.

The formal program started with a short welcome by Charge d'Affaires at the US Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Nepal, Michael C Gonzales and Public Affairs Chief in the US Embassy in Nepal, Tristram Perry.


As many as 52 new members were shortlisted for 2017-18 among the total 1,740 applicants. They would be engaged in various Civic Engagement Projects over the one year period, and are expected to come up with different ideas that promote democracy in the community, one of the organizers, Santosh Pandey informed.


The program is scheduled to continue till Thursday.
