Three-day Embassy Youth Council 2018-19 begins

KATHMANDU, Sept 22: A three-day orientation program hosted by the US Embassy Youth Council (USYC) began at Park Village Resort, Budhanilkantha, from Friday. 54 newly selected members of 2018/19 US Embassy Youth Council (USYC) from a diverse background participated in the orientation.

KATHMANDU, Sept 22: A three-day orientation program hosted by the US Embassy Youth Council (USYC) began at Park Village Resort, Budhanilkantha, from Friday. 54 newly selected members of 2018/19 US Embassy Youth Council (USYC) from a diverse background participated in the orientation. 


The orientation program will include various interactions and motivation sessions over the course of three days. In the opening day of the orientation, Editor in Chief of Republica National Daily -- Subash Ghimire, former USYC alumni -- urged the participants to raise their voice to take upon challenges and to try new things that had never been done before. At the end of his session, Ghimire further interacted with participants on various topics such as status, challenges, and opportunities in journalism, and his role as the editor in chief.

The program is also scheduled to feature various renowned speakers such as filmmaker Nishcal Basnet, veteran actor Hari Bansha Acharya, actor Deepak Raj Giri, Nepali Congress Lawmaker Gagan Thapa, and director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Kulman Ghising during the three-day session. 


USYC is a platform of Nepal’s youth created by US Embassy Kathmandu in 2011. It enables direct interaction with Nepal’s Youth about various issues and also encourages aspiring Nepalis to contribute to the growth of their community.
