Laxmi bank ties up with Trans-Fast<br/>Mahalaxmi Finance reaches Hetauda

KATHMANDU, July 13: Laxmi Bank has signed a money transfer agreement with Trans-Fast Remittance LLC of the US.



Under the agreement, expatriate Nepalis living in the US can send money to their friends and families back home through any one of the 1,800 Trans-Fast offices located in the US, states a press release issued by the bank on Monday. [break]



“Beneficiaries in Nepal have the option of either collecting the cash through a payment network of more than 400 agents across the country or have the money deposited directly in their accounts in any one of the Laxmi Bank´s branches,” adds the release.





Mahalaxmi Finance reaches Hetauda



KATHMANDU, July 13: Mahalaxmi Finance Limited has opened a new branch at Main Road in Hetauda. Babu Lal Agarwal, chairman of the finance company, inaugurated the new outlet, states a press release issued by the company on Monday.



With the opening of the new branch, Mahalaxmi Finance is now present in five places around the country, including Birgunj, Kalaiya, Narayanghat and Kathmandu. Mahalaxmi Finance is soon merging with four other financial institutions to upgrade itself into a commercial bank, states the press release.





BoK installs ATM at Tripureshwar



KATHMANDU, July 13: Bank of Kathmandu (BoK) has installed an automated teller machine (ATM) at its Tripureshwar branch. “This is expected to provide more convenience to our customers,” states a press release issued by the bank on Monday.



With the addition of the new ATM, the bank now has a total of 18 ATMs. From these terminals, customers can withdraw cash, inquire about their balance and print mini statements.





Sanima opens two more branches



KATHMANDU, July 13: Sanima Bikas Bank has opened two new branches -- one at Chuchhepati and the other at Suryabinayak -- in Kathmandu valley. The new outlets were inaugurated by two directors of the bank, Sambha Lama and Dillip Shrestha, respectively, states a press release issued by the bank on Monday.



"The Suryabinayak branch is furnished with an automated teller machine (ATM) -- the second ATM installed by the bank so far," adds the release.



With the addition of two branches, the number of branches of the bank established and promoted by non-resident Nepalis with the aim of mobilizing required capital for national development has reached eight. The bank has four branches outside the capital -- Dhading, Damak, Pokhara, and Narayangadh.
