Dhangadhi, April 23: The lawmakers of the Provincial Assembly of Province No. 7 have said that the budget unveiled by the government was challenging to implement despite it being good at large.
The provincial government on Sunday tabled the budget for remaining three months of the current fiscal year.
Though many of the issues in the budget were positive, the lawmakers expressed their displeasure for missing many areas in budget including Seti highway, Syaule-Dipayal fast track and some others.
They said that dry port in Dodhara Chandani, management of the border points, managing the proper settlement for those living in fallow lands, ending untouchability, prevention of inundation and floods and bringing programmes for the uplift of the marginalized communities were missing.
The lawmakers furthermore said that the budget was brought by violating the budgetary norms and values by making it more distributive to allocate more budget in the unproductive sectors.
Lawmakers Harka Bahadur Kunwar, Ratan Bahadur Thapa, Maya Tamang Bohara, Baldev Regmi, Prakash Rawal, Purna Joshi, Nepalu Chaudhary, Shanti Nepali, Man Bahadur Sunar, Mahesh Dutta Joshi, Prem Prakash Bhatta, Shyam Lal Rana Tharu, Dr Rana Bahadur Rawal and Bharat Bahadur Khadka put forth their opinions on the budget in the deliberations.
