Province 2 lawmakers seek space for Tarai Madhes issues in budget

KATHMANDU, May 15: Federal Parliament lawmakers from province 2 have sought space for Tarai Madhes issues in the upcoming fiscal year's budget. 

Lawmakers called on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli with an urge to come up with the program for the prosperity of Tarai Madhesh. 

A delegation comprising representatives from all political parties in the federal parliament from the province requested the Prime Minister to accord priority to the socio-economic development of the province. 

Their voices were that the government policy and programs and the budget for the upcoming fiscal year should address issues concerning education, health, agricultural, economic and industrial development of Tarai Madhes, flooding and landslide control, road, drinking water, river embankment and management and chure conservation, as told by delegation member Laxman Lal Karna of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal. 

CPN (UML)'s Suman Raj Pyakurel told that the Prime Minister calling the demands 'genuine' responded that he was serious about the overall development of the Tarai Madhesh, and the nation as a whole. He pledged implementation of the suggestions. RSS
