Seven killed, 330 others injured in 266 cases of post-Dashain road accidents in Kathmandu Valley

KATHMANDU, Nov 16: Around 266 accidents have been reported in the Kathmandu Valley from October 28 and November 16. These accidents claimed the lives of seven people while 330 others were left injured.

KATHMANDU, Nov 16: Around 266 accidents have been reported in the Kathmandu Valley from October 28 and November 16. These accidents claimed the lives of seven people while 330 others were left injured in these accidents.


According to the Kathmandu Valley Police Office (KVPO), 74 vehicles were involved in the accidents that were self-caused, while 192 accidents were caused by collisions with other vehicles. In Kathmandu, the number of vehicles involved in self-caused accidents is 39, while 94 collided with others.

In Lalitpur, 19 of them are involved in self-caused accidents and 30 accidents occurred due to collisions with others. In Bhaktapur, 16 vehicles met with self-caused accidents and 68 accidents occurred due to collisions with others.


SSP Dinesh Raj Mainali, spokesperson of the Kathmandu Valley Police Office, said that 108 people were arrested in connection with all these accidents. Police said some of these accidents are still being investigated.
