KMC spent only 44.24 percent of its allocated budget for 2021/22

KATHMANDU, August 11: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) spent only 44.24 percent of the allocated budget in the last fiscal year.

KATHMANDU, August 11: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) spent only 44.24 percent of the allocated budget in the last fiscal year.


According to the KMC, it spent Rs 7.31 billion out of the earmarked fund of Rs 16.52 billion in 2021/22. Speaking at an annual review meeting of the KMC on Wednesday, KMC’s Mayor Balendra Shah said the metropolis will be making a work plan and timeline to effectively implement the endorsed programs from this fiscal year.

The KMC has allocated a budget of Rs 25.41 billion for the current fiscal year. Of the amount, it has allocated 2.24 percent for the economic development programs.
