King Wangchuck of Bhutan  arrives in Kathmandu

Accompanying the king on the visit are Bhutan’s Energy Minister, Foreign Secretary, and Ambassador to Nepal, security officials, and other members.

KATHMANDU, Dec 6: King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan arrived in Kathmandu this morning as part of an unofficial visit. Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr Arju Rana Deuba welcomed King Wangchuck at the Tribhuvan International Airport.


Bhutanese King Wangchuck is scheduled to visit Swayambhunath and Bauddhanath. He is currently in Kathmandu on his way back to Bhutan from India. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that he will return home today itself.

It has been reported that King Wangchuck will go directly from the airport to visit Swayambhunath. Following that, he is scheduled to visit the Bauddhanath. Accompanying the king on the visit are Bhutan’s Energy Minister, Foreign Secretary, and Ambassador to Nepal, security officials, and other members.
