SURKHET, April 29: The government of Karnali Province has allocated Rs 1.34 billion to control the spread of the coronavirus infection. According to Minister for Social Development, Bimala KC, the provincial government has distributed Rs 220 million to Karnali Province Hospital of Surkhet and Rs 120 million to Chaurjahari Community Hospital and various district and strategic hospitals to improve health infrastructures in the region.
Similarly, the provincial government has allocated an additional budget of Rs 10 million for the prevention, control, treatment, and response to the second wave of COVID-19. As stated by Minister KC, Rs 5 million has been transferred to the COVID-19 fund from the development expenditure.
Also, the provincial government has stated that additional health workers and antigen tests and screenings at all four entry points of Surkhet have been arranged as well.
