Several actors of Nepali film fraternity used social media to opine their views regarding the arrest of media personality Rabi Lamichhane for an investigation related to the suicide case of journalist Shalik Ram Pudasaini.
Prominent actors of K-town including Madan Krishna Shrestha, Hari Bansha Acharya, and Deepak Raj Giri took up the social media platform to express their opinion regarding Lamichhane and demanded a fair probe.
“I demand a fair investigation. As I heard news about the arrest of Rabi Lamichhane, I believed that thousands of innocent people are behind the bars without committing mistake,” Madan Krishna Shrestha wrote on his official Facebook page on Friday.
“We trust journalist Rabi Lamichhane but not Home Minister Rabi...
Similarly, Hari Bansha Acharya also expressed his opinion via his official Facebook page, “Committing a suicide itself is a serious issue. Then, those are proven as culprit because they are accused by the deceased is even more serious issue. I wish truth wins out.”
Then, Deepak Raj Giri also demanded a fair investigation regarding Lamichane’s case through Facebook’s post. He wrote, “People commit suicide in two conditions: One who has no more desire to live and in other cases, people encourage them to commit suicide. Due to an allegation by deceased, the one who is a suspect will have difficulty living in the society. Thus, the only solution is a fair probe.”
On the basis of Pudasaini’s video, Lamichhane including Yubaraj Kadel and Asmita Karki were arrested on Thursday. Pudasaini alleged them being responsible for his decision to kill himself in the video.
