Janamat Party celebrates ‘Dhoti Diwas’ at Maitighar (In Photos)

People from the Madhesi community observed the Dhoti Diwas at Maitighar, Kathmandu on Wednesday on the occasion of National Attire Day.

KATHMANDU, Jan 1: People from the Madhesi community observed the Dhoti Diwas at Maitighar, Kathmandu on Wednesday on the occasion of National Attire Day.


Those who gathered at Maitighar Mandala wore dhotis, a dress primarily worn by people in the Terai. Dr Chandrakant (CK) Raut, the chairman of the Janamat Party, was among those participating in the event.

Dr Raut mentioned that Nepal’s wealth lies in its diversity of attire, languages and ethnicity. He emphasized that only by respecting everyone can the country thrive.
