They met for a conversation at the new Baneshwor Parliament building. During the discussion, Shrestha asked Raut, “What is your opinion on party unity, what is happening?”

After the discussion with Raut, Shrestha told Republica, “The conversation was positive. When party unity happens, it will be with everyone's agreement. However, as mentioned outside, it will not happen immediately. It will follow a process.”

Shrestha said that there will be a discussion among the three of them, including Raut and NUP patron Resham Chaudhary. Only after that, they might reach a concrete decision.

Earlier, there had been continuous discussions between Raut and Chaudhary regarding party unity. Chaudhary had even stated that a unity agreement with Raut's Janamat Party would be announced soon, and a nine-point agreement had already been reached.

Following this, Chairperson Shrestha officially had her first conversation with Raut.
