KATHMANDU, June 13: Efforts are being made to bring Janamat Party back into the government. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal himself is trying to bring the Janamat Party into the government. For this purpose, Prime Minister Dahal has held one/two rounds of discussions with the Chairman of the Janamat Party, CK Raut. There are claims from a source that Raut has shown a positive response to Dahal's proposal of participating in the government. Chandan Singh, general secretary of the Janamat Party, said, "It is not that we will not join the government, we can join the government."

The Janamat Party left the government after not getting the Ministry of Industry in the cabinet reshuffle held on March 31.

Abdul Khan of the Janmat Party, who was the Minister of Water Supply at that time, resigned after Prime Minister Dahal continued with the Ministry of Water Supply without giving Janamat Party the Ministry of Industry. The Janmat Party had been claiming the Ministry of Industry from the beginning.

According to sources, Prime Minister Dahal is currently doing his homework to bring Janamat Party into the government by giving them a ministry that was given to the Maoists. "There is a preparation to bring Janamat Party to the government by giving one of the ministries that Nepali Congress or Maoists got," the source said, "But there is a higher possibility of giving the ministry which was previously obtained by  Maoists."

There will be attempts to persuade Federal Affairs Minister Aman Lal Modi or Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Sudhan Kirati to resign if Janamat Party agrees to join the government. Minister Kirati is currently making efforts to separate the Civil Aviation Authority and the Airport Authority. According to sources, some individuals are not pleased with this effort.

The source said, "The tourism minister's effort is to separate the regulatory and service provider agencies. This work is good, but some people are not satisfied with it.

According to sources, there is a possibility of Janamorcha Party joining the government by securing a ministry in either the Ministry of Tourism or the Ministry of Federal Affairs. A leader of the Janamat Party said, "But we are not interested in the Ministry of Water Supply."

According to sources, efforts are being made to give the responsibility of Janamat Party not only to the central government, but also to the Madhesh provincial government. Now two ministers of the Janamat Party in the Madhes provincial government Party have been relieved of their responsibilities in the respective ministries. At the request of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), Minister from Janamat Party Basanta Kushwaha and Minister of State Sanjay Yadav have been removed from their positions.

Under the direction of JSP Chairman Upendra Yadav, Chief Minister Saroj Yadav of the Madhes Province government has removed two ministers from Janamat Party from their responsibilities and appointed them to non-portfolio positions. "Preparations are underway to reassign responsibilities to the two ministers from Janamat Party who had participated in the Madhesh province government. Discussions on this matter are ongoing," said the General Secretary of Janamat Party, Singh. According to sources, JSP Chairman Yadav is reluctant to bring Janamorcha Party into the federal government. He has made a request to meet with Prime Minister Dahal.
