Int'l poll observers arrive in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, Nov 8: A group of international observers has arrived in Nepal from various Asian countries to monitor election activities.



The Asian Network for Free Elections (ANFREL)-Foundation has said it will deploy altogether 50 election observers during the upcoming CA polls.[break]



Of the 50 election observers, 10 have already been separately deployed to the five development regions. "Other 40 observers will arrive in Kathmandu on November 12 and, after being briefed, will be deployed on November 14 to various districts across all the five development regions," said the statement issued by the organization.



They will join other observers, who are already in the fields, five days before the election date. According to the Foundation, they will remain in the field until November 30 covering the pre-election, election and post election phases of the CA electoral process.



The mission will be headed by the foundation´s chairperson Damaso Magbual.
