KATHMANDU, Jan 31: Moon Star Club is gearing up to organize a trail marathon with the aim of promoting sports and tourism in the lower areas of Solukhumbu. Organizing a press conference in the capital on Wednesday, the club announced the marathon with a prize of Rs 300,000 on October 21.
The organizers claimed that the prize money is the highest in Nepal in the history of the trail marathon.

Chandra Bahadur Rai, the club's vice president and program coordinator, informed that the international trail marathon is being organized for the promotion of sports and tourism in the lower areas of Solukhumbu.
President Bhuwan Singh Rai informed that the marathon will start from Solududhakunda Municipality–5, Salleri and conclude at the Basakli Secondary School (Khalidanda) of Mapya Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality 2.
The top three winners in the trail marathon, open to both domestic and foreign participants aged 16 years and above, will receive cash prizes of Rs 300,000, Rs 200,000, and Rs 100,000 respectively along with trophies and certificates. Additionally, consolation prizes of Rs 5,000 each in cash and certificates will be awarded to 5 runners. Equal prizes have been allocated for both male and female winners.
