Implement Deuba govt’s decision to grant old-age allowance, urges NC

KATHMANDU, Dec 23: The Mahasamiti meeting of the main opposition Nepali Congress has decided to urge the government to implement the Deuba government’s decision to provide the elderly citizens’ allowance to the Nepali people above 65 years of age.

KATHMANDU, Dec 23: The Mahasamiti meeting of the main opposition Nepali Congress has decided to urge the government to implement Deuba government’s decision to provide the elderly citizens’ allowance to the Nepali people above 65 years of age.


 Issuing a press statement following the Mahasamiti meeting,  the policy making body of the NC, the NC said, “The Mahasamiti meeting requests the government to implement the decision taken by then Deuba government to grant elderly citizens’ allowance to the Nepali citizens above 65 years of age.”

The meeting also decided to urge the Oli- government to provide Rs 5, 000 in monthly allowance to those who are suffering from fatal ailments related to heart, cancer, spinal injury and kidney.


Meanwhile,  the meeting has also urged the government to provide additional Rs 100,000 in aid to the quake victims.
