Streaming video-on-demand platform iflix, founded by Catcha Group, an international investment focused on emerging markets, and Evolution Media Capital (EMC), a merchant bank, is the leading entertainment service for emerging markets, offering users unlimited access to thousands of TV shows, movies and more.


 “We founded iflix with the aim of being better than piracy, realizing that most entertainment users do not actively want to steal; they simply have no better alternative,” says iflix Country Lead in Nepal, Bhawana Ghimire. “By providing world-class service, with unlimited entertainment all at the price of a pirated DVD, we want to revolutionize the way people in emerging markets consume entertainment.” 


According to a press statement released by inflix, despite global players looking toward emerging markets, iflix remains unfazed, calling the arrival of new players “advantageous” in a region where the SVOD model is still a relatively novel one. “Through localization via content, subtitling, marketing and pricing, we have become a unique service that our local customers appreciate and can relate to,” Bhawana added.

It is one of the first and only SVOD services in the world to offer download capabilities for offline viewing to its members. Available for both Android and iOS devices including smart phones and tablets, ‘Download and Watch Offline’ allows iflix subscribers to download and enjoy the content of their choosing without an Internet connection and without incurring prohibitive mobile data costs at no additional charge.

In Nepal, iflix has an exclusive partnership with Ncell which enables all customers of the network to enjoy up to three months unlimited access to iflix’s world class service.


With a mission to offer users the content they want from top international titles and popular regional shows to highly localize content tent poles, iflix wants to be at the heart of the consumer’s entertainment experience, read the press statement. 


“Subscribers can look forward to first-run local moves direct from cinema, local catch up TV as original programming and sports live streaming,” said Bhawana. iflix is currently available in 25 markets across Asia, MENA and SSA. For new subscribers, iflix offers a complimentary one-month trial with full access to its service, features and content.
