How to use Apple’s AirDrop

By No Author
KATHMANDU, Jan 20: Chances are that you might not have used the AirDrop feature on your Apple product yet. Many of us don't even know what it does. But this is one element on your iPhone, iPad or Mac that you should immediately learn how to make the most of. AirDrop is an easy way to share your files with your family and friends nearby.

Follow these steps and share your files easily.

• Check that your Apple device has iOS 7 or later and that your Mac has OS X Yosemite or later.

• You will need to turn on both your Wi-Fi and your Bluetooth.

• Turn on AirDrop by swiping up from the bottom of your screen to open Control Center and then tap on the AirDrop sign.

• Select who can see your device—contacts only or everyone (all the nearby devices using AirDrop).

• Pick the files you want to share and tap on the device or the AirDrop user you want to share it with.

• In case you're sharing a contact number, you have to first sign in to iCloud. The receiver should also do the same.

• If you're receiving files from another AirDrop user, you will be notified with the preview of the content and you can either accept or decline. Once you accept it, the incoming photo will be saved in your Photos album, videos in the right place, and if it's a link of a website, it will open in Safari.
