Home ministry recommends Joshi and Dhakal for promotion to AIG

KATHMANDU, April 16: Nepal Police Deputy Inspectors General (DIG) Umesh Raj Joshi and Bhim Prasad Dhakal have been recommended for promotion to the post of Additional Inspector General (AIG).

KATHMANDU, April 16: Nepal Police Deputy Inspectors General (DIG) Umesh Raj Joshi and Bhim Prasad Dhakal have been recommended for promotion to the post of Additional Inspector General (AIG).


The Ministry of Home Affairs has recommended Joshi and Dhakal for promotion to the AIG position, which will be vacant due to the retirement of AIG Sandeep Bhandari and AIG Mira Chaudhary Tharu due to reaching the age limit in Nepal Police.

As AIG Bhandari and AIG Tharu are set to retire on April 18 and April 20, respectively, two vacancies will arise, and Joshi and Dhakal have been recommended for these positions.


Currently, Joshi serves at the Secretariat of the Inspector General of Police at the National Police Training Institute in Maharajgunj, while Dhakal operates from the Police Headquarters in Naxal.


Joshi has secured the top recommendation with a score of 73.8368, followed closely by Dhakal with a score of 73.6306.
