There was a clash between the 'No Cable Car' supporters and security personnel last Saturday regarding the proposed cable car in the Pathibhara area. Three of the 'No Cable Car' supporters, who were injured during the clash with security forces, are currently receiving treatment at the Maharajgunj-based TU Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu. Seven Nepal Police and Armed Police Force members who were injured are being treated at Taplejung District Hospital, according to a security source in the district.
The 'No Cable Car' supporters, accusing security personnel of abuse, have called for an indefinite traffic shutdown on the Mechi Highway, the Tamor Corridor, and the border crossing into Taplejung from Tehrathum starting today. The protesters have also prohibited two-wheelers from operating in Taplejung.
