Helicopter that flew to Dhaulagiri base camp loses contact

KATHMANDU, April 9:  A helicopter that was going to the base camp of Mt Dhaulagiri in Myagdi has lost contact.

KATHMANDU, April 9:  A helicopter that was going to the base camp of Mt Dhaulagiri in Myagdi has lost contact.


Chief District Officer of Myagdi, Tulsiram Paudel, said that the helicopter, which had left for the base camp area on Sunday morning, lost contact around 11:11 AM.

"There has been a report that the helicopter is out of contact," CDO Paudel, who has been assigned to the search team, told Republica. After receiving the information that it was out of contact, an Air Dynasty helicopter has been sent to search for the helicopter that has gone out of contact. The district administration office said that the details of the passengers on board the helicopter have not been received.


A helicopter is being searched in the area around Mt Dhaulagiri, the seventh highest mountain in the world that stands tall at 8167 meters above sea level, located in Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality-4 of Myagdi. As it is not possible to go there by foot immediately, the concerned agency is searching.
