Hearing on Lamichhane’s misuse of passport case deferred

The writ was listed for hearing on Monday under the case number 30 in the joint bench of Supreme Court Justices Hari Phuyal and Nripa Dhwaj Niraula.

KATHMANDU, Dec 2: The hearing on writ petition against Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), on charge of misusing his passport has been deferred today. A division bench of Supreme Court (SC) Justices Hari Phuyal and Nripa Dhwaj Niraula was scheduled to hear the writ petition on Monday.


Yuvraj Safal had filed a writ petition at the SC on April 3, 2023, demanding the annulment of the decision of the Office of the Attorney General not to advance with the case against Lamichhane. The writ was listed for hearing on Monday under the case number 30 in the joint bench of Justices Phuyal and Niraula.

The bench of Judge Phuyal had issued a show cause order on April 5 2023. After the bench ordered the submission of the file, the hearing was postponed for eight months.
