KATHMANDU, May 14: The police have sent a letter to the Department of Passport to revoke the passport of Gitendra Babu (GB) Rai, the founding chairman of Suryadarshan Cooperative. The District Police Office, Kaski, has submitted a letter to the Department of Passport, urging the cancellation of Rai's passport.

An official from the District Police Office, Kaski, confirmed that a formal request had been made to cancel the passport issued under the name of GB Rai.

Despite the issuance of a 'red notice' by Interpol, an international law enforcement agency, GB Rai has managed to evade arrest. Due to this, authorities have initiated the process of revoking his passport. A diffusion notice was issued against him on January 27.

Following the issuance of the diffusion notice, Rai was traced in Malaysia. The government has also formally communicated with the Malaysian authorities through diplomatic channels, urging them to arrest Rai and hand him over to Nepal.
