Kamati who was compelled to quit his job during the insurgency has demanded either adjustment to an alternative security body or appropriate pension or management of other alternatives to sustain his life.[break]
He had started a relay strike at the Ratnapark-based Shantibatika on September 14 and went on a hunger strike from September 18 with a view to mounting pressure to the government to address his demand.
The police on September 29 picked him up from the Ratnapark and took him to the Bir Hospital after his health condition worsened due to hunger strike.
Initially, he was admitted to an emergency ward and later shifted to the intensive care unit, according to Tek Bahadur Thapa, coordinator of the Conflict Victim Army- Police National Struggle Committee.
Now Kamati is being given saline. He is unable to speak due to weak health condition. He is suffering from fever, stomach and urinary problems, it is learnt.
