Gurung appointed NID chief

KATHMANDU, July 20: The government on Wednesday appointed Moti Bahadur Gurung as the chief of the National Investigation Department (NID).



A cabinet meeting held in Singha Durbar on Wednesday took a decision to this effect. Gurung was promoted after the former chief Ashok Dev Bhatta retired from the post.[break]



The meeting also appointed Bibha Das as the chairperson of Dairy Development Corporation and extended the term of Nepal Food Corporation´s General Manager Hari Narayan Sah by two years.



Similarly, the cabinet meeting appointed Suresh Prasad Yadav as the executive director of Nepal Railway Company.



The meeting also decided to transfer Secretary Nathu Prasad Chaudhari from the Ministry of Agriculture to Information Commission while secretary of Information Commission Uma Kanta Jha has been transferred to the Ministry of Agriculture.
