Greed for power prolonging stalemate: Gachchhadar

ILAM, Oct 6: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar on Saturday said that the political parties´ greed for power is prolonging the current political deadlock.



Talking to media persons at Kanyam, Gachchhadar, who is also the Chairman of Madhesi People´s Rights Forum-Democratic (MPRF-D), stated that they would support the party that will succeed in taking all the other parties into confidence. [break]



He said the Madhesi parties should be allowed to lead the new government if the major three political parties -- UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress and CPN-UML-- fail to forge consensus on government´s leadership.



Stating that the issue of who would lead next government has complicated the present political situation, Gachcchadar stressed on the need for consensus among political parties to end the current deadlock.



He claimed that the fresh election for the Constituent Assembly (CA) would be held in April. Gachchhadar also said that political parties will forge consensus on election related issues within this month.







In a separate context, Gachchhadar said the government has beefed up security keeping a view the upcoming festive season. "I have already directed the concerned authorities to make proper security arrangements," he added.



Meanwhile, Gachchhadar inspected landslide affected section of Mechi highway and distributed Rs 100,000 to affected seven families each. Seven peoples were killed in a landslide at Harkate-Hanspokhari section of Mechi highway on Sunday.
