Speaking at press meet in Birgunj Tuesday morning, Thakur said claimed that lust for power among the big three parties was chiefly to be blamed for the current political deadlock. [break]
“Government leadership has been the main priority of the big three parties,” said Thakur. “The deadlock would not resolve as long as this situation continues.”
Thakur said there is no alternative to forging consensus as the 16th round of prime ministerial voting has also failed to yield any results.
Asked to comment about the attack on Indian envoy Rakesh Sood in Solukhumbu, Thakur termed the act “unbecoming”.
He urged the government to take action against those involved in the incident.
Thakur said it was wrong on the part of the Maoists to provide training to Indian Maoists if the news reports are to be believed. “It is not good to carry out activities that are against our neighbors,” he added.
