KATHMANDU, June 29: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari said that the communist movement should be led by further strengthening the policy, working style and organizational setup.
At a programme organized on the 75th birth anniversary of late communist figure Madan Bhandari on Sunday, the former President opined that Nepal's communist movement was at a threshold of new opportunities and challenges.

She argued that drawing a conclusion on the relevance of people's multiparty democracy or the communist movement based on the result of a particular election was inappropriate but added that review and self-realization were required by further strengthening public relations.
The communist movement should internalize the changing social structure, ongoing new aspirations among youths and the shift taking place in the world and the massive development of technology, she added.
Also speaking at the same event, former prime minister and CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli claimed that his party has not erred by going against the interests of the people and country.
Oli argued that his party's policy and programmes were correct and timely and called for unity among the democratic and left forces.
