KATHMANDU, April 8: The Department of Education has decided to monitor and check the fee hike from the very beginning of the new academic session in community and private schools, following complaints from various quarters against the rampant fee hike in the educational institutions.

The Department would strictly monitor the fee hike and take action if any institutions were found charging fee going against the education code of conduct.

Receiving the memorandum submitted by the All Nepal National Independent Students' Union (Revolutionary) today, the Department's Director General Dilli Ram Rimal said none could raise or collect the fee in a rampant manner by ignoring the existing law and criteria. He assured that that the Department would take stern action if any schools were found violating the law in this regard.

Speaking to journalists, treasurer of the ANNISU (Revolutionary) Lal Bahadur Tamang warned of stern protest if the government did not take action against the schools that encourage rampant fee hike.
