CHITWAN, April 15: The government is preparing to mobilize around one million volunteers, Chief Secretary Leelamani Paudyal said on Monday.

Speaking at closing ceremony of Scouts Jamboree in Chitwan, Paudyal added that the present government has decided to continue with the volunteer mobilization campaign, a brainchild of Baburam Bhattarai-led government. [break]

Asking scouts to join the volunteer service, the chief secretary said, "The scouts should participate in the volunteer campaign as there are no differences between scouts and volunteer campaign."

Paudyal said he believed the jamboree has helped scouts to face three Ds in life--Dirty, Danger and Difficulty. He also asked youths to invest their abilities in the motherland rather than in foreign countries.
