Maoist Center to deploy 3,100 volunteers in quake-affected districts

KARNALI, Nov 20: The Karnali Province Committee of the ruling CPN (Maoist Center) has decided to mobilize a total of 3,100 volunteers to support the quake-affected people in the districts of Jajarkot, Rukum Paschim and Salyan.

KARNALI, Nov 20: The Karnali Province Committee of the ruling CPN (Maoist Center) has decided to mobilize a total of 3,100 volunteers to support the quake-affected people in the districts of Jajarkot, Rukum Paschim and Salyan.


A review meeting of the party's Province Special Transformation Campaign took a decision to this effect.

The volunteers to be deployed in the earthquake affected communities will work to build temporary residences for the homeless people there and assist the authorities in the reconstruction process.


The volunteers will be deployed under the leadership of the concerned district's chief of the CPN (Maoist Center).


The earthquake occurred on November 3 killed a total of 157 people in Jajarkot and Rukum Paschim districts while affecting around 105 wards in other districts.


A team of 21 volunteers will be mobilized in each ward, the CPN (Maoist Center) said.
